Titanic: Transporting Treasures from the Deep
2012 marked the 100th year anniversary of the Titanic disaster. For this article on the shipping of Titanic artifacts, I attended the St. Paul exhibit in '99, marveled over treasures, poured over the shipping manifest (opium onboard) and interviewed George Tulloch, founder of the RMS Titanic company, which led the expedition to the seabed. (Tulloch's team completed 32 dives to the site 2.5 miles under the Atlantic) A decade later, at the Science Museum of MN's Titanic exhibit, it was a kick to see one of the large hull pieces I wrote about in this piece.
